Vietnamese Spring Rolls (Chả Giò)
Crispy on the outside and flavourful on the inside, Vietnamese spring rolls are more than a beloved dish—they are a symbol of family, togetherness and the joy of sharing food.
Known as chả giò in southern Vietnam and nem rán in the north, Vietnamese spring rolls have long been part of family celebrations, holiday gatherings, and everyday meals. They often bring people together in the kitchen, where each person helps prepare the filling, roll the wrappers, and cook them until golden and crisp.
The many ingredients wrapped together inside each roll carry a simple but meaningful idea. Meat, shrimp, vegetables, and seasonings come together in harmony, reflecting the balance and richness of Vietnamese cuisine. The wrapper holds everything closely, symbolizing care, connection, and the warmth of family. Their carefully rolled shape also represents a wish for wholeness, abundance, and lasting bonds. This is why spring rolls are often served during Tết, family reunions, and other special occasions. They are made not only to satisfy the appetite, but also to be shared with the people who matter most.
At AN VIET, every spring roll is carefully wrapped by hand. We continue this traditional method because we believe the care placed into each roll is part of what makes it special.
For us, chả giò is more than something crispy and delicious. It is a small taste of Vietnamese tradition—a dish made with care, shared around the table and enjoyed together.
